With over a million acres of pristine wilderness, 8 state parks and nearly half of its land designated as state forest and game lands, Potter County is a haven for those looking to relax and unwind, get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and reconnect with nature. It’s also home to the darkest skies and brightest stars in the eastern United States. In fact, the Travel Channel recently named Potter County’s Cherry Springs State Park as the best place on Earth to go stargazing.

We find great joy in exploration and discovery, and in cultivating relationships between people and the environment. Come visit and enjoy our way of life, if only for a little while. Once you visit, you’ll want to come back – most people do. Write your own stories and create your own memories here in God’s Country.
